anons i fucked up this interview :( it was for this position at an afghanistan cultural center and the guy asked me about what i know about the country so i told him, and then i went into how the media in my own country only shows the conflict going on and it's all negative, so i think it's rly important for the younger generation to be involved in promoting cultural understanding etc etc
and the guy was mad! he was like oh well every country gets negative news i'm sure they show japan and fukushima in a negative light all the time... and i wanted to be like well yeah but it's not like japanese face discrimination just getting on a plane because of that. nobody is marching around the streets like "fuck the japanese!! nuke those terrorists!!" but i refrained i was like "oh that's true you have a good point"... but idg how it helps you to pretend like your people are shown in a good light in a country when they aren't? i know it's a sensitive topic but it's not helpful to pretend the media is just showing afghanistan in the same way as every other country
