As for the D/s relationship—I agree! If it’s a consensual D/s relationship in a RACK or SSC method, then power to ya, and rock on you kinky kids.
But that’s not what it is. Haruka didn’t volunteer to be sold, or to become Ain’s pet (and, if I recall, that’s precisely the terminology used, “Pet”).
And yes—Haruka suffered from depression and took a while to acclimatize; so now we have to wonder if this whole Epic Love Story really just is Stockholm Syndrome.
If the writers wanted to be REALLY radical, they could have this whole game be Ain’s quest to reunite with her Lost Love—only to find out that, in reality, what she saw as a Tragic Separation was really Haruka escaping and trying to flee her oppressors/captors, and this whole time, we (the players), have been playing the Villain.
Not to toot my own horn, but I think that’d be way cooler than some Star Crossed Demi-Diety Lurvars.”

and then we got some campaign begging letter from hillary's senate run that included a photopostcard of her and it was hanging on our fridge (idk why, mom u weird)

and you know it made me insanely happy, like it would any normal 13 year old girl
