it was so disgusting how when the elliot rodger shooting happened, it was a common sentiment that if women or the government would just provide men w/ sex, then stuff like that wouldnt happen so we need to start mandating that all men get regularly laid!
lql this with special guest lauren lapkus episode with ben schwartz went from doing improv to the 2 of them reminiscing about the shows they watched as children
Blaustein was born intersex. She was assigned male at birth and lived as male for many years before transitioning to female. Her experience as an activist in the transgender community helped her to organize and support groups of people in Second Life.
She was inspired to come out as transexual after working on the episode “Go West Young Meowth.” She said she saw Meowth as a human trapped in a pokemon’s body, just as she saw herself as a woman trapped in a man’s body.

“Everything we feared about communism - that we would lose our houses and savings and be forced to labor eternally for meager wages with no voice in the system - has come true under capitalism.” – Jeff Sparrow
I think the backlash will likely be short-lived. Lost was a pretty incredible show, and I agree with you that when thought about as just great serial television, it's difficult to beat (in the mystery/sci-fi area of tv programing, anyway).
People will rewatch it eventually, and new people will get turned on to it, which I think is important. The new folk who come to it on DVD won't have to sit through the early eps of S03 wondering what the hell is going on and they won't have to wait weeks while the season goes on hiatus. They'll burn through S03 in a few days and think it's incredible and when they get to the end and Jack says, "we have to go back," their minds will be fuckin blown and they'll press on to S04. And so on.
They won't sit around all summer wondering what's going to go on, mythologizing the show, watching webisodes, playing online games, etc. Some of that stuff was a helluva lot of fun, but it definitely added to the wild anticipation for where everything was going to end.
By watching it on dvd pretty quickly, they'll see a lot more of the connections that stretch out over episodes or seasons and they'll get a lot more of the references to past shows. And they'll also probably get into that serialized feel of it more. And while they might not feel as compelled to defend S06 as much as I do, those who don't like it also won't feel nearly as let down by it. So the show will linger in their minds a lot more positively than it has for some who watched from the beginning. And they'll get the hype about it being a great show, and probably wonder what all the fuss was about the final season.
