is it weird to call people you don't know so well "love"? not like random strangers but people i volunteer with i hardly know, acquaintances, people i follow on tumblr...i never thought of it until today but i do it a lot. just like "hey love will you pass me that pen?" or "i hope you're feeling better love!" butttt maybe people take that the wrong way? is that possible? if so what other word can i replace it with?

i do this all the time. i call all of the guys at the grocery store i go to "love" and "sweetness" and i really try not to call the women that, but i admit i am really shitty at it :(

why not call women that? i feel like thats only obnoxious if guys call women that. i probably use it more on women than men by far

because i know a lot of women don't like it when anyone calls them by any kind of name like that.

i call people hon in a friendly way unless i check myself. it is kind of embarrassing, but no one has ever told me that it pisses them off.
