On the NAACP Spokane Facebook page, a picture was posted earlier this year showing Dolezal and an African-American man. In the post, he's identified as Dolezal's father. KXLY4's Jeff Humphrey asked Dolezal about that claim Wednesday afternoon.
"Ma'am, I was wondering if your dad really is an African-American man," Humphrey asked.
"I don't understand the question," Dolezal answered. "I did tell you [that man in the picture] is my dad."
"Are your parents white?" Humphrey asked. At that point, Dolezal removed the microphone, ended the interview and walked away.

I work as a psych nurse and its causing my mental state to get more and more fractured. Every day I go to work, genuinely try to help people but in the end were holding people against their will so I get verbally and physically abused almost daily. My dog keeps eating all my things, my room mates never clean up and I think my girlfriend loves me but don't think she respects me. I am extremely ambivilant towards my friends, I love them more then anything but they frustrate the crap out of me, I'm the only one that works full time, so they come over every weekend and drink and party and then bounce before clean up. I'm working 65 hour weeks so I can save money for a house deposit and I'm just so tired all the time and I start freaking out all the time when I have any time alone Which isn't that often. I feel like I'm trapped

Cedric Bradley, chair of the Spokane NAACP’s Criminal Justice Committee, says that there is still support for Dolezal in the organization. Describing her as a close friend, Bradley says that he’s seen her visibly shaken after receiving hate mail. Bradley says he’s always understood Dolezal to be black. But, he says, it doesn’t matter if she is in fact white because she’s been a strong supporter for minority populations.
“In my opinion, it wouldn’t make a difference to me,” says Bradley. “It’s not about black and white, it’s about what we can do for the community.”
