During the filming of 2011’s Thor, actress Rene Russo was forbidden from handling the prop swords due to her violent criminal past. An inexperienced security guard was blamed when she managed to acquire this steel prop. Though her frenzied rampage through the set claimed the lives of six crew members, director Kenneth Branagh claimed that the footage was “too good not to use” and digitally replaced the late crew members with frost giants. It is said that actor Liam Neeson (King Laufey) quit the project in protest of Branagh’s decision, only to be replaced by Colm Feore who reportedly “had no problem [with it].”
