I understood the effort my mother put into shopping when I was 10, and my kids absolutely understand the effort I put in to get what I get. They just don't care.

Taking and using, I don't mind, that's why it's there. Taking and wasting, "it's OK, she'll just buy more," is NOT OK.

Locking down the stockpile is my husband's idea. My husband is an incredibly wasteful person, and even he is appauled at how wasteful the girls are. He very rarely puts his foot down, and certainly never before concerning the stockpile because that's my domain, so this is going to happen.

Who throws away half a bottle of body wash because there's a new scent in the closet you want to try? "It's OK, she'll just buy more."
