i buy clothes off of japanese auction sites a lot and it's amazing how they'll list something as cheap and describe it as horrifically damaged when it's got like...a button missing or there's the tiniest faintest hint of a make up stain on the inner collar

meanwhile i've had stuff listed as "brand new" in the us arrive to me with mildew on it or reaking of bo

the japanese sites? i have the characters for "damaged" saved and the shopping services i use will warn me if there's a "problem"

plus when something is discounted from like 200 dollars to 20, there's usually something "wrong" with it

i've had that happen to me with dvds

the way they describe it i expect horrific scratches with it barely playing, it arrives and there are some slight surface srcratching

the problem is knowing when they're serious about the damage bc they describe them the same way then too
