so joss promised in some interview that coulson makes it out of avengers alive
and then they "kill him off" in the middle of the movie
but then at the end of the movie fury says something that indicates that he was lying about certain circumstances re: coulson's death to manipulate the avengers
which could mean that fury is a manipulative bastard
or it could mean that coulson survived his "killing" attack
but they don't show him bandaged up and smiling etc at the end the way most franchises would so it's ambiguous
and apparently they want to cast coulson in iron man 3 but it could be flashbacks etc
so i'm of the "well clearly he's not dead" camp but idk how much of that is wishful thinking

b/c it's joss, so it's gonna be something depressing

do u think joss could ever make a movie and show emotional growth/motivation without killing someone
like is he aware that other motives exist besides vengeance for a beloved's death
