i'm a bit emotionally stunted from being abused in my early teens and tbh i'm not sure how much more mature i'll get. i'm not the kind of immature that most tumblerinas are and my people skills are ok, but i don't think i'll ever "feel" any older than i was in my early teens. if you are or you've been in the same boat, what would you say my prognosis regarding this issue is?

reposting cause no1curred before and i decided to try again

sorry biba. maybe the reason you haven't matured past your early teens is because what happened made you mature at the time, sooner than most people would have, and now it's just kind of evening out as everyone else grows up?

i hope you're well & happy, biba.

i'm of the belief that we never get stuck in a stage in which we can't achieve any personal growth. idk, i took a human development and aging course that mainly focused on adulthood, and there are a few interesting stage theories wrt to maturing/aging, that you might find interesting. the key concept in most of them is that you have to overcome hurdles that you experienced at certain ages in order to move past it, and that it's never too late to go back to that stage and grow from it.
