massachusetts. i thought he was a fucking idiot, but apparently they really do exist, and establishments can refuse to serve alcohol to anyone without one.

now i still think he's a fucking idiot, but at least he's not a liar. i've never had this problem anywhere before, though. :/

"Some establishments which serve alcohol may refuse to accept a Massachusetts ID card. State law provides the establishment some legal protection if alcohol was served to a minor in reliance on a valid Massachusetts Liquor ID card but not if the establishment relied on the Massachusetts ID card."

what do they do for out of staters

(Anonymous) 2012-04-25 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
lots of places don't serve out of staters

(Anonymous) 2012-04-25 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
lmfao WHAT

worst business decision ever

(Anonymous) 2012-04-25 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
if u live in a major city this isn't a problem
but if ur an out of state student in a small college town or just living in a small town generally there are all these bizarre liquor laws that get followed to the t because they don't need/want trouble from the cops, it's p. common

(Anonymous) 2012-04-25 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
a lot of massachusetts bars won't accept out of state IDs - i mentioned below, the td garden (hockey/basketball arena) won't accept out of state ids unless you're over 25

(Anonymous) 2012-04-25 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
wait are you a mass resident with a mass ID?

or was it another state ID?

because places like the garden won't serve you with an out of state ID unless you're over 25, so it's not unheard of

i'm a mass resident with a mass id. i've used my id at that same place multiple times with no issue, so i don't what the deal was tonight.
