ya it explains the insane teenage fans they're the awkward loners hussie is bringing together sure it's fucking annoying for the rest of us, but it's way better that they have friends they can relate to so i hope they have many meetups and such idk if i'll be able to finish reading it, i'm on the act 3 intermission and it was getting so tedious but i might skip it now that i'm all about this whole "the plot doesn't matter" stuff but i hear u about influences, he's wrapped them all together in this cohesive way that i think i have to call artful but at the same time it's so blatant that... idk maybe it's all written to be obvious so again his 13 year old fans will "get it" and feel smart (since they should be learning about literary devices in school at around that time anyway) or maybe he's not a v. good writer
it's not rly FOR me but as a former alienated teen i feel p. sympathetic to the whole subculture
