i laid down to take a nap and when i woke up my left middle finger nail was sore. it felt warm and when i could squeeze it it would hurt a little more. i laid back down and just got up 15-30 minutes ago and it was still a little warm, not as sore, and i could squeeze the tip and feel a little more soreness.

it's a story about alienated kids on the internet, designed to bring together alienated kids on the internet
everything else- the quests, the adults, the adversaries- are ciphers, meant to advance the plot or stand against the kids so they can have fun and danger and character development
the beta kids, the alpha kids, and the trolls are the only characters that mean everything
all the plot trappings are just an excuse for the kids to have conversations, framed as a love letter to all the influences in hussie's life- textrpgs, film noir, astronomy and astrology and classical literature, epic fantasies and science fictions, and especially everything douglas adams
i'd been approaching it as if everything was important, but the jargon was getting overwhelming, but when you realize all of it just doesn't matter it's a lot of fun to get through
