so tired of that being the theme of every slash fic, along w crap about their friends coming to terms w it s i d c

what pisses me off is that whenever someone has the character be okay with being gay or their friends okay with it you always have the pretentious fandom jackasses going "but that's not REALISTIC! character a was STRAIGHT, they're going to be a little homophobic! it's hard for people to accept, their friends wouldn't be so supportive"

like fuck you, i experience this enough irl, let me at least enjoy fic where str8ies aren't being stupid and nobody goes "but omg bob, you're a tough guy, you can't possibly be gay!"

idk maybe it's different in different fandoms bc i don't want a ton of angst either but lately i've been irritated at every fic i read having being gay as being the easiest thing ever bc i have a hard time seeing myself in them

tbh as a queer writer its escapist for me, i just want a break from real life shit and some of the fics that deal with the hardships of being queer end up making excuses for homophobia of other characters, which i hate

there's just this trend of people saying that slashers should stop writing gay angst altogether bc queer people don't want to read about that shit which is stupid and generalising bc some of us do want to read about it
