i rly hate it that the flag that's supposed to be the symbol of unity for the whole country has become shorthand for racist arseholes
i wish i could slap their hands off it tbh but i think the only way around it now would be to change the flag and that will prob never happen bc TRADITION etc
my mum (she's american) feels the same way about the confederate flag - ppl are always saying oh it's just the flag of the south, but it's a well-known racist symbol used primarily by racists so what can u do except find a new flag?
worryingly we've been seeing quite a few of those around here as well which is just o_0

and dear lord i am even starting to hate the font of that damn sign, it's EVERYWHERE
