nonas help i'm tech stupid? my dad plugs his laptop into the tv using a cord that is nearly the same size as a usb but not, and also not a monitor plug. i want to plug mine in but i can't find that size hole on my laptop even though it's pretty new?

it would be a hdmi cord

you might just not have a plug for it, sorry nona - even some newer laptops don't

the other option is a monitor plug and an audio cable if you've got them around
