i expect the offer, but if he insisted or fought me when i declined, it'd kick him to the curb so fast

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
you seriously expect someone to pay for something for you? wtf kind of bullshit entitlement is that?

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
lol clarm down

many guys offer to pay, that's prob why she expects it

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
nayrt

offer, biba

at least if they were the person who asked the other out, they're supposed to at least offer to pay

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
they're "supposed" to?

wtf

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
yes?

if i asked someone out, i would offer to pay, too

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
+1

the asker should always offer to pay, man or woman

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
uh yes

it is implied that when you ask someone to go with you somewhere that you've chosen a place you can afford

you are essentially acting as that person's host

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
exactly

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
like it or not, it's traditional manners when a man is actually interested in a woman

if i don't get an offer to pay, chances are overwhelming that he's not into me

(Anonymous) 2012-04-08 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
idk i think if he offers it's a sign that he thinks men should pay. which creeps me out bc it just goes back to "men should be this and this in the relationship"

i mean obviously you can have that discussion and talk about why it bothers you, but yeah. it's definitely a whiff of something poopy.
