mostly i just want to commiserate lol :c how do i move on from this ... stagnation or regression of my abilities. i don't think it's normal that when i look at older pictures i think: oh i used to be so much better sob

imo do something that is completely out of your comfort zone and your normal work for your next project.

also, what exactly are you trying to draw? if you're drawing from life (or from an image), do a little warm-up. have you ever taken an art class? did you do blind drawing? next time you're drawing from your reference, cover your drawing hand and your canvas with a piece of paper so you can't see it (or turn off your monitor if you're doing digital lol). doing this will force you to focus on really seeing what you're drawing, and can give you a new perspective. yes the result will look silly but it's good practice.
