jw to anyone who knows more about the historical context, was the rewrite of soujourner truth's speech as awk and offensive back then as it appears now?
(ie by todays standards it appears she was rewritten to seem much less intelligent. but i dont hear many ppl complain about the rewritten speech so i was wondering if it would be read differently at the time?)
