not that im excusing their behavior but, ime, it's usually ppl who are so backward, narcissistic, and anti-progress that in the process of completely fucking over marginalized ppl, they sometimes do burn themselves. they see trump as a savior who is gonna save~~ them from economic downturn, that esp takes from in racism and/or xenophobia i.e. he's gonna stop immigrants from coming over and taking opportunities that belong to "us". this comes from repubs pushing nationalism and racism for decades. not to mention sth like the opioid crisis the economic situation is so bad that when someone like drumpf comes along, it just creates a cult.
