5 tbsp butter 1 cup heavy cream 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp salt w/e flavorings you want, i've done a ton
heat those together til the cream is just simmering. don't let it boil over. set it aside to cool
1.5 cups white sugar 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup light corn syrup or honey
mix those together, then heat them on medium, stirring til they're melted together. use a pot quite a lot bigger than you think you'll need, it bubbles up a ton. also keep a bowl of ice water on the side to douse your hand in if any sugar gets on it, sugar burns are nasty.
once it's melted together, stop stirring and just swirl it together til it's golden. then dump the cream mixture in and stir constantly til the mixture hits 248 F
pour into an 8x8 pan lined with parchment paper and sprayed with kitchen spray. then wait til it's cool, slice into pieces, and wrap in waxed paper
