why is foster care so terrible

because there aren't enough protections for kids in amurrica

foster care homes are often neglectful or abusive. some ppl do it just bc they want the money you get to take care of the kids, or just bc they want some kids to abuse tbh

or they get burnt out and just don't care

b/c over worked social workers and ppl not believing kids and pathologizing all foster kids and treating their problems like they're emotional problems and complaints like they're imaginary

also respite workers are generally unskilled and unknowledgeable and don't gaf

thats rly sad tho, ppl don't gaf about institutional abuse
