Elizabeth Mattock, a quiet young university grad with a love of good books and violin, had always been perfectly happy on her own. Until one day, she wasn’t. And it was all that no good, Ian Drury’s fault.
After four years of tranquil study at the University of Queensland, uninterrupted by a single drunken party or breakup, Elizabeth shocks everyone she knows including herself by departing on a solo backpacking expedition through Europe. She has everything carefully planned from the start, from which hostels to stay in to her eventual dream destination of London. Other travel companions were simply not a part of the picture- especially not a messy-haired travel blogger who introduces himself as Ian after defending her from several intimidating backpackers. Unexpectedly she finds herself drawn to his friendly and unpretentious manner, and he in turn delights in sharing his firsthand travel knowledge with her. Throughout their separate journeys they find themselves alternatively pulled together and pushed apart, until Elizabeth makes a startling discovery that will change both her and Ian’s life.
