why do idiots always smuggle drugs into china and other asian countries with harsh drug laws

some of these people are just smuggling them for their own use that's what's completely incomprehensible

they're risking their lives for a high

this is literally what addicts do. they risk their lives, relationships, jobs, family, and health for drugs. why would a death penalty deter them when they know many drugs they take are a death sentence?
