i know this seems like a troll question but i'll give it a shot: do you think the fact that nipples are colored pink in fanart of asian characters is enforcing european beauty standards? i know this seems silly because it's such a minor physical trait but i came across this fanart of a chinese character and another character comments about their nipples saying they're "nice and pink". i guess i don't mind too much but as an asian myself, i wonder: are there any asian people with pink nipples? Almost all East and SE Asians have pale brown to dark brown nipples unless they have albinism, and yes, portraying women with bright pink nipples as the height of beauty is definitely a Eurocentric beauty standard and also very colorist. There’s a huge industry of lightening creams specially marketed to Asian women to bleach sensitive areas like nipples, and like all lightening creams they can damage skin, cause cancer, etc.
So this is a deadly serious health issue, and one that doesn’t get enough attention because of the over-sexualization of breasts.
The vast majority of the world has brown nipples and shouldn’t be under constant racist/misogynist pressure to change their color.
