help her understand the different types of data she's interacting with. there's temporary data that won't come back if you don't save it before restarting (emails you've started typing but haven't sent or saved, etc), data that won't come back if your personal computer gets destroyed (photos you have saved to your computer), and data that is saved on a server somewhere else that you can access from any computer (emails other ppl have sent you, etc)
