i've disliked david sedaris ever since i read his interview abt his sister's death

his attitude was basically "yeah it's sad igss but she was always kind of weird and could never rly hang w/the rest of us, welp wat can u do"

uh well what's the right attitude to have when a family member you're not very close to dies and some interviewer asks you about it?

smth that sounds like u give a shit? even just "we rly miss her and we'd prefer if u respect our privacy" or w/e

which sister was it, was it tiffany? the one with the dirty feet or the one whose father in law accidentally called her fat? i seem to remember getting the feeling from his stories that there was one sister that nobody was very close to

i read his article about it "now we are five" and idk he seemed distanced from her, she had issues and really resented her family, david was pretty candid about how their mother didnt love her and how the family sent her away to elan school which would have fucked anyone up, that place was a nightmare

i liked both pieces he wrote about her death /shrug
