i’m only speaking for myself here, but tenderness for me is about being a super emotionally sensitive person and not being ashamed of it. having a lot of feelings and not apologizing for that fact. crying easily and often. i’ve always been an extremely sensitive person and that’s often seen as a bad thing, but it’s really really not. it makes things hard sometimes. but i am a capital f Feeler and i am constantly reminding myself that that is okay, and it’s even good. it’s also about being vulnerable with my feelings, with myself and others. the ‘others’ part is something i am constantly working on because it doesn’t come so easily to me. “tender” is what i am and it’s what i work towards.
um and i’m queer and tender at the same time. so. tenderqueer.
