So, I am reading book called Hawaii’s Story by Hawaii’s Queen written by Liliʻuokalani, the last Queen of the Kingdom of the Hawaiian Islands. Let me say, that, not for the first time, I am ashamed to be an American. We pushed this innocent queen of her throne because she had a “Hawaii for the Hawaiians” agenda which America didn’t want. And when the people of Hawaii called for a new constitution, Liliʻuokalani had one drawn up. And then we invaded because that constitution would have limited foreign businesses and would have increased the tariffs that American businessmen would have had to pay. For as long as I live, I will never forgive America for this extreme injustice that was done to this innocent woman who only wanted to give what her people wanted. For those who have not read the book I strongly encourage you to read it. It is a truly compleling story.
