do you think mb now one of the reasons ppl don't like to admit their faves have flaws is in response to how ott tumblr is about them

like if you relate to a character and they have flaws and people talk about how shit they are and how they deserve being beaten up or w/e it makes them upset, bc you can't be flawed and still worth dignity or w/e

so ofc it bothers them when their faves have flaws

tumblr (and fandom in general) has a rly black and white view to a characters morality, it's like their values come straight from saturday morning cartoons

anything more than that sends them into overdrive

no wonder they see basic stuff in kids cartoons and go "ADULT SHOWS WOULD NEVER!!!!"

tho even a cartoon trying to have nuanced morality is too much for them

people talk about how shit they are and how they deserve being beaten up

there was this one blogger who not only did the usual subhuman trash, deserves to die spiel with loki, but who also posted detailed fantasies of thor slowly torturing him to death and this was supposed to be justice

she also thought that loki fans were complicit in his crimes

ngl that type of detailed stuff bothers me, too close to "its okay to be violent or abusive to another person if they're bad enough"

then to say its fans who are complicit in the characters fictional crimes, talk about no self-awareness
