not my parents but my childhood bff's parents were (i spent almost as much time at her house as my own)

we only figured it out when we were teenagers lol. we weren't even close friends anymore, one day she messaged me out of the blue like "did u ever realize wat that smell was in the basement? i just realized what that smell was in the basement" and suddenly a lot of things clicked into place lol
