ppl need a reason to live and if they have no resources, no insurance and no money and no support then i doubt they'll have an impossible time getting help. reality is people will do it bc they have no recourse in their brain. helping them to live a miserable sad life does what?
i have no access to the mental health care i need in the US, not even on disability because the public mental health services where i live are garbage and abusive and the good therapists are all private practice who don't take public health insurance
i want to move somewhere where its easy to get good care but i'm poor and mentally unwell and don't have an impressive high-demand job so its never going to happen
i'll never say suicide is the only option but i can understand why so many people feel that way bc the way mi is so stigmatized in many societies
i think not just improving mental health but also working to reduce a lot of shitty societal conditions like abuse and systemic issues would help with people not feeling so desperate, there was a good article talking about how marginalizations can contribute a lot to stuff like situation depression
what exactly do u want here? bc if it's "wow i had never thought about how some people are in shitty situations, i guess a shitty situation means people should kill themselves!" u can fuck off
