A new entry in my canon that's coming out soon-ish features a relationship between two guys that is pretty much all but outright stated by the creators to canonically be a homosexual relationship. Awesome! The pairing isn't my cup of tea dynamic-wise, but I still think it's great that canon went in this direction.

Cue someone on Tumblr making a post viciously attacking this pairing and *gasp* claiming that one of the guys should be with this female character instead. The post was so ridiculous and over the top that I had a hard time believing that this person wasn't a blatant troll.

And now there's a defense force for aforementioned canon pairing posting replies to this person saying how s/he is terribly homophobic and disgusting. Okay, sure, this person's an asshole and they asked for it. But as fans get more and more riled up about challenges (sincere or not) to this pairing, I've been hearing about a growing trend of people shouting down others who are meh about this canon for other reasons because now everyone has to support this canon for the pairing! This is important!!!

It's just a few people now... but I have a feeling this is only going to get worse as time goes on. The canon isn't even officialy released yet. Why does fandom have to ruin everything :(

bloo why wont those fans accept homophobia :(
