i love that ppl on ontd always swear they were never influenced by how barbie looks but whenever a barbie-like doll with realistic proportions comes out she is dismissed as being dumpy and ugly
buttloads of "i never wanted to look like barbie as a kid and my kid/niece/whoever plays with barbies and she's never told me she wishes she looks like barbie!!"
b/c if ur not outright and explicitly wishing that u looked like an unattainable body standard, ur clearly not being influenced by it
