nonas have any of u ever had to replace a single key on ur laptop? like if u lost the key cap or if the hinge holding it in broke or w/e?

i've found a few websites where u can buy like a single key if u give them the model of ur computer or w/e, but all of them cost about 5 bucks per key which seems a bit much, esp if i have to pay for shipping or w/e as well

but i also read that sometimes computer repair shops will replace the keys for u as well? does anyone know how much that costs generally?

i have 3 broken/missing keys but only one that i'm actually looking @ fixing, the other two i'll only replace if it's not too expensive tbh

i've been able to get keys replaced for practically nothing bc they had a giant box of abandoned keys behind the counter

idk if this is the norm but it can't hurt to call around and see what the repair shops in your area can do for you

tbh the hinge broke on my x key once, and i just gave up replacing it and typed with the plastic nub under it until that laptop died

i have two keys like that rn (f9 & f10) and tbh the only reason i'm okay w/ it is b/c i never actually use either of those keys lol

idt i'd be able to deal w/ a missing letter key tbh lql, i'd drive me nuts
