a plastic tote or some other large container (ours was in an empty butter cookie tin) where you keep the hair ties and barrettes rubber bands and beads and bows and fasteners and all the other things for a little girl's hair

i never had my hair done at anyone else's house, but i have loose curls so idt my hair was as much work as it could have been
