my grandma was a hardcore catholic

i wonder why that's why my aunt hasn't come out to anyone. everyone knows she's a lesbian but it's not something she talks about

yeah, part of the reason why i wasnt raised catholic was because the church is so homophobic

i'm rly glad because that would have made my coming out even more harder. i think catholic history and art are rly interesting and i like marian imagery, but that doesn't make up for the sexism and homophobia

yeah honestly i like the idea of mary and the iconography but i have no interest in any other part of catholicism

with my grandmother gone things are better but i still dont feel great about that side of my family

my grandma was a very, very devout catholic and tbh a big part of why i still haven't come out is bc i loved and respected her ... and i keep feeling like she will haunt me or hate me from the afterlife if i don't suppress that shit
