i know orson scott card is a tool and we hate him but Xenocide/Children of the Mind is partially about exactly what you felt - the world of Path

as much as i hate orson scott card, i love those books, esp. xenocide. i could really relate a lot to qing-jao when i read them as a teen. i wish i'd remembered them when i first started going to mass bc i'd probably have realized what i was doing a lot earlier and nipped it in the bud with therapy instead of going through months of awfulness and then more months of trying to break the habit. :c
