Male victims of sexual assault are taken much less seriously than female victims, and report the crimes less often for cultural reasons and knowing that they're unlikely to get anywhere with it. Handling of reports is poor and in need of work for both sexes, but for men it's significantly worse. And it snowballs into an idea of "assault of men is extremely rare and usually bullshit" because so few report and only a tiny percentage of them are believed when they do.
it's true that a lot of male victims of sexual assault aren't taken seriously because sa is ~something that happens to women. however, no, it's not worse for men. female victims aren't taken seriously bc women are expected to be available to men and even in cases where there is irrefutable evidence that rape took place then the blame is still placed on the woman. also men don't have to deal with rape culture, etc so lol at anyone who says they have it worse
