there's a club at my school that's supposed to be for women in my field since it's harder for us to break into it and i'm not surprised they're like "men are welcome too" but there's always part of me that just goes "but why?"

and a bunch of guys are coming to the meet and greet and ugh i know they're gonna try to dominate the conversation bc they always fucking do

even in spaces we create for ourselves men have to barge in and take over. i wouldn't mind if they just sat and listened while we did all the talking but it's never like that.

but there's always that part of me that wants to be able to go "but why?" and have it taken seriously or w/o being told i'm being sexist or smth or burning any bridges in my field :/

honestly i assume those guys are just super neckbeards whose only chance at meeting wommen is to over extend their welcome at women's clubs that put "men welcome too" just to be nice lbr

occasionally there'll be ONE guy who shows up bc he wants to learn but he sits quietly off to the side or smth but the majority of the dudes i just want to say "stfu omg"

there's like a percentage of men who see anything labeled "Women's ___" and NEED to go to it/make sure that if they wanted to go to it they could. even if they don't want to go to it they'll scream and cry until it's changed to "Women's ____ men welcome"

it just makes me rly hate men :( they GET the luxury to do this to us while if i tried to go to a club for guys it'd most likely turn out scary and/or creepy
