how did they figure out that if they put together a bunch of hardware to whatever specifications, then invent a whole language that is created exactly for these random pieces of computer hardware? how was the very first programming language all figured out for the very first time

honestly you're going to have to go aaaaaaaaaall the way back to the history of computers back when it was just a machine with a bunch of doohickies that were either in the 0 or 1 state and they could change the states to do basic math

how that became a language where you tell a computer to calculate the way a cube bounces off another cube while simulating gravity is something beyond the capabilities of my tiny feeble mind
