i've been to super formal weddings and had tons of fun and i've been to a friend's wedding where we were just dressed in jeans and t-shirt and did a bbq and then played video games and cuddled with her cats and it was great too

Telling other people that they should be like you is the very epitome of arrogance. You are not so great that everybody should aspire to be you. For starters, if everybody in the world was like you then every instance of the written word would be impenetrable doublespeak. Without effective written communication there would be no news, no fiction, no instruction manuals, no books, no letters or emails or internet. Mankind would fall back to the dark ages, reverting to a time when the written word was a mystery. Thousands would die from easily preventable diseases because no one would be able to understand the medical reports or textbooks. Great works of art and literature and science would be lost forever to ignorance. Skyscrapers would crumble into the seas, planes would fall from the skies and the modern age would end.
Is that what you want? Because that's what would happen!
