I have felt for a long time now that I'm not welcome in fandom because of all the warnings wank (I'm a Choose Not To Warn person, or if I do warn it's only for really big, obvious stuff like character death, rape/non-con, and violence) and the language policing, as the anxiety brought on by the fact that I might do it wrong and get someone upset/mad at me makes me feel like a horrible, isolated person who is wrong for not believing fighting against social injustice in media is the end-all-be-all of the fandom experience.
I'm aware that this post is probably reading like a CRY MOAR type whine, and I'm sure I do have privileges that are showing. But I also do stand by my belief - that it's cool to have some disorders, but not others. And if you do have those disorders that aren't cool, disorders where towing the party line is genuinely stressful and upsetting, most people in fandom will think you're just a bad, selfish person and not want you around.
