i don't think they're getting dumber, but i do think that they're under more scrutiny now? bc of the way advertising at kids took off in the 80s and 90s which is now v effective, bc of social media that allows them to broadcast every part of their life to their peers and to their family, and bc of increased globalization and the flow of information (not necessarily good information either)

i think nona who said they process information differently is right basically

yeah w the influx of social media advertising & online "common spaces" like facebook that are just fancy data mines for advertisers i feel like ppl born within the last 5 years onward are going to be spending more time w ppl who want to sell them something than ppl who don't, which has a huge influence on kids' intellectual development
