i'm so frustrated! i got charged for water damage to a book from the library, but the book was completely fine when i dropped it off :( and they want 16.99 for it ;-;

i don't know! i don't want to come off like a jerk or anything and have them think i'm a problem or w/e. but it was seriously fine when i dropped it off. if i even though a book might be damaged, i'd probably already have bought a new copy of it for the library ;-;

go in and talk to them about it, a lot of library workers are really chill about stuff and will prefer dropping a fine to creating a conflict

they are holding it so i am going to go see what the deal is. but i will probably just pay the damn fine in the end :(

i work for a library and if you talk to them and try to figure out some explanation for how it got water damaged they will understand. actually even if you dont have a reason and just argue they will drop the fine too.

i really really don't want to argue with them or be a jerk about it. it was just really startling to me because i'm so protective of library books. plus lol i hated the book and didn't even read all of it
