i can understand why a lot of activists are anti-olympics, but i can't really agree with treating absolutely everything to do with it as some kind of neo-fascist propaganda. god forbid people forget their horrible lives for a moment to look forward to a worldwide sporting event.

i understand being upset and protesting the athlete factories, for lack of a better term. and for how uneven the playing field ends up being, so heavily weighted toward the US and russia and european nations. the lack of coverage for events that the first world countries aren't the favorites in.

i still believe in the spirit of why they exist, tho. and i wish something could be done to fix it.

well i got my haircut and i now have a fringe which is kinda cool

except i made some throwaway comment about how my hair it takes ages to dry (hairdresser was talking about how annoying her fringe is bc it's too long)
and she seems to have taken this as a cue to thin my hair out at the back
