when i was a kid, my mom would collect all the little ends of crayons when they got too short to hold anymore
she had this old busted grater, so she and i would pick colors that went together (like purple and blue) and grate them v e r y c a r e f u l l y and spread them out in a shape (usually a butterfly) on a sheet of wax paper. then she would put another sheet on top and iron them together
