i kinda like to think that ghosts are after images or just some residual energy. like when to take an electrospectrograph picture of a plant or whatever and you can see that aura around it. and then you cut off a leaf and take the picture again and there's still an outline of where the leaf was. maybe ghosts are something like that.

the thing i remember most is the part that was left out in a lot of editions, i think, about a far distant future where the earth is dark and cold and there are these weird little rabbit-sized animals and he kills one to examine it and he realizes that they're a very, very distant descendant of humanity, reduced to this very reduced and pale version of itself by the environment
anon the mind is a strange thing. plenty of ppl hallucinate for plenty of reasons. and tbh all we have to go on that they didn't know about x is their word. they might even believe what they're saying, but the brain is predisposed to remember things but not where you learned them. it makes sense that someone could have heard or read something, forgot about it, and have that memory triggered by something they see or hear

there isn't proof that ghosts don't exist but there isn't scientific proof that they DO and so occam's razor applies and people are liars or imaginative *kanyeshrug*
