cinco_series 2nd-Apr-2012 10:18 pm (UTC) The Palestinian Israel conflict is not a religious war. It is a war for independance (for the Palestinians) or for the creation/safety of a State (for Israelis). There are muslims and christians among the palestinians and they are both represented in the many fighting groups.
The Nigerian conflict is much more larger than religion. There are tens of ethnic groups and the 3 main groups are fighting over power and control of oil. Even in your post, it is said that it is an inter-ethnic conflict.
I wouldn't consider the Sikh pogroms as a war.
The Buddhist Uprising is surrounded by the whole context of communism vs capitalism, North Vietnam vs South Vietnam, China/Russia vs USA/Western countries.
All in all, religion is sometimes a factor but there are few wars based solely on it. And the most terrible wars of our century have not been based on religion (WWI, WWII, Iran/Irak,...)
ugh quit dismissing wars because they are not WW1 and WW2, these are terrible wars to these countries.
