if u are overweight you won't maintain on 1500 cals a day

not unless you have a medical condition that directly effects your thyroid

i maintained a weight of 145-155lbs at 5"3 but ate only 500-800 calories a day. it only lasted about half a year but i dont have any thyroid conditions. idk how it was possible.

you said it with your tw. it was possible with an eating disorder. you fucked your metabolism and probably now do have a thyroid problem that'll be hard to detect.

i mean i had an ed when i was eating that little, but idk why i didn't lose weight i just kinda plateaued and then maintained (instead of consistently losing bc of a calorie deficit like whats allegedly supposed to happen)

ive actually been screened for thyroid issues twice in the past yr bc i was so sure something was wrong but my bloodwork always comes back normal. i must have just fucked my metabolism idek.

ed metabolism magic

i reached my current weight w/ an ed at 1,000-1,300 calories a day (then restricted more, lost more weight, you know how it goes). now i maintain it at 2,000

i've had my thyroid checked and it was fine but i'm still have a lot of trouble losing the last 30 pounds i need to lose

probably half of it is that it's hard for me to cook for myself bc of physical disability so i eat like shit for days/weeks at a time but i still try to mind how much i'm eating

ding ding ding

i feel you tho. i do the same shitty thing but i exercise a lot for my job (bike courrier) so i justify it to myself

tw ed?

i gain weight if i eat over 1000 calories a day, no matter how those 1000 calories are achieved. i used to have a bad ed (went from 180 to 110, now i'm 180 again ugh.) i probably wrecked my entire body by doing that. allegedly there's nothing wrong with my thyroid but i still think there is.

you might just need to get to a plateau and stay there for a while tbh

that's what happened to me. i was 20 pounds overweight after being severely underweight for years and now i'm a normal healthy weight after 2 years

idk how i feel about setpoint theory but oh well
